About Stein på stein

Stein på stein is for those who have already reached level A2. It continues where På vei ends. Stein på stein goes up to level B1 and consists of Textbook, Workbook and online exercises. Here, I explain how you can work with the books and exercises. Although you have a lot of freedom, you should also agree with the teacher on how to proceed.

How to work with the texts

I recommend this approach

Listen to the audio file
Read through the text without looking up words (you can listen at the same time)
Read through the text again and look up words
Use glossaries/dictionaries to find the meaning
Read aloud while listening to the audio file. You can listen to difficult words and phrases multiple times
Read the text aloud to yourself

How to work with books and online exercises

In general, I recommend this order:

Textbook
Workbook (with listening exercises)
Online exercises
Podcast

This is a general approach and we may deviate from it sometimes. In the workbook, you will see that the first exercises (part A) in each chapter are linked to the texts. In other words, you are doing exercises that are linked to the text of the same name. You should do the exercises in the book before you start with the online exercises. This will give you a better overview, and a lot of grammar is explained in the workbook.

The online exercises are on two levels. You do the exercises on level 1 first. You can click at the top of the page (next number) to go to the next exercise. If you click “neste”, you may sometimes go directly to level 2 and not to the next exercises. You can also click “overview” to switch between level 1 and level 2.

Of course, it is possible to do some level 1 exercises before you have done everything in the workbook. But you should do level 2 after you have done (most of) the exercises in the workbook.

You can do the listening exercises in the workbook after you have done most of the other exercises.

Information for each chapter

Here you will find the answers to the exercises in the workbook. You’ll also find exercises for the podcast, including fasit (solution). I’ve also attached text to the podcast. You can look at the text if it’s impossible for you to understand what they’re saying.

Here you’ll also find the texts for all the listening exercises in the workbook. In addition, I have included an English glossary for many of the texts in the textbook.
